El Sábado St. Clair estaba que ardía, no solo de calor, sino por la intensidad y la fuerza del espíritu latino que se reunió en este lugar. Por cuarto año consecutivo la calle St. Clair fue el nido de la cultura latinoamericana en Toronto, en la cuarta instalación de Salsa on St. Clair, evento tan esperado por latinos y canadienses, que expone lo mejor que nuestra cultura latina tiene para ofrecer.
Este pasado Sábado 14 y Domingo 15 de Julio miles de personas se dieron cita a este festival, en el espacio que comprende la calle St. Clair, desde Winona Drive—al este de Oakwood, hasta Christie, al oeste de Bathurst.
Este trecho de St. Clair alberga a un sinnúmero de restaurantes y bares latinoamericanos, y el número de negocios que se unen a lo que pronto se convertirá en Little Latin America sigue creciendo poco a poco.
Decenas de miles de personas—latinos y canadienses por igual—de todas las edades, fueron testigos y partícipes del tan colorido evento, disfrutando de una exhibición exquisita de lo mejor que nuestra cultura brinda: música, baile, vendedores y artesanos, un área infantil, por primera vez una área interactiva de fútbol y por supuesto nuestra riquísima comida, ya que no podían faltar las deliciosas pupusas salvadoreñas, empanadas colombianas, las delicias ecuatorianas y la infaltable suculenta comida peruana de la Cocina de Doña Luz., entre muchas otras.
Este evento, totalmente gratis, por cierto, se lleva a cabo gracias a la colaboración de la Ciudad de Toronto y Telelatino Network, en el que se celebran nuestra cultura y raíces latinas. Este año Salsa on St. Clair estuvo bajo la animación de Ismael Cala, presentador de CNN y anfitrióm del programa Calando A, que se transmite en Telelatino y quien viajara a Toronto desde Miami, en donde reside desde hace unos años.
Habia una inmensa variedad de puntos de atracción al recorrer la distancia desde Winona Drive hasta Christie. En el foco primordial del evento, el Main Stage o escenario principal, se presentaron las mejores bandas musicales de Toronto, y artistas invitados de otras ciudades del país, tales como Verónica Mesa and the Latin Beat Band, Carlitos Cruz, Charles y sus Estrellas, el grupo Colombiano Di Fusion asi como Ricky Franco y la P-Crew Orchestra, quienes hicieron su debut con bombo y platillo en Salsa on St. Clair.
Pero eso no era todo: en lo que los organizadores denominaron Hot Spots, múltiples presentaciones se llevaban a cabo simultáneamente. Asi pudimos disfrutar de grupos musicales, lecciones de baile y bailarines profesionales que ofrecían demostraciones de su arte como Oscar y Vanessa de Latin Energy, Rhythmic Fire, Samba Squad, los bailarines de Salsa Congress, grupos de musica tradicional andina Imbayakunas, Nueva Siembra y Fuzion. Tampoco podían faltar el arte del flamenco con la participación de Fiesta Gitana y los mariachis favoritos del público, Viva Mexico.
Sin duda alguna, y dado que evidentemente la organización del evento va mejorando poco a poco, Salsa on St. Clair irá creciendo con los años y desde ya se vislumbra como lo que se convertirá en el evento Latino del verano en la ciudad de Toronto.By TorontoHispano news
After a very successful run of concerts that were totally sold out in Massachusetts and Connecticut, Urban Latin superstars Wisin & Yandel, are now gearing up to face their most demanding audience yet, at the Staples Arena in Los Angeles and Madison Square Garden in New York.
Wisin & Yandel will be presenting their mega production at the Staples Arena on May 30 and at the Garden on June 7th. Production Director Che Perez is working on the very complex production of the two shows with rich visual elements, sophisticated pyrotechnic and special effects which include moving stages, escalators, huge screens and hundreds of lights that will react to the rhythms of their explosive reggaeton hits that have made this Duo, stars all over the world.
On May 29th , Wisin & Yandel will be at the Hard Rock Café Universal City Walk for an In Store, where they will be presenting their most recent musical production Wisin vs. Yandel : Los Extraterrestres – Otra Dimensión and signing autographs for their fans. The record hits the stores today and contains 5 new tracks including: Siguelo and Dame un Poquito; two hits that are already hitting the top charts of the music industry. The activity is stated to begin at 7:00 pm.
WY Records also announced that a remix of Rider Part II, produced in collaboration with 50 Cent and G-Unit, is now exclusively available for all the WY fans on www.thisis50.com. The remix was produced in New York early this month. This is the first time 50 records with a reggaeton act and chose to do so given the unprecedented ascending career of this Dynamic Duo.
After concluding their stay in Los Angeles, Wisin & Yandel will travel to San Jose California to present at their show on May 31st. Then they will travel to the Big Apple to film a Mi TRL Show and present their new record in the Virgin Records Store on Union Square. Following these and other promotional commitments, Wisin & Yandel are scheduled to present their concert and participate in the Puerto Rican Day Parade where they will be the guest artists on the MTV Float.
“We are very grateful for the level of support we have received from all our fans all over the world”, said Wisin after learning that all the concerts have sold out and there are barely any seats available in two of the most important arenas in the United States, Staples and the Garden. The energy emanating from music composed by the great reggaeton artist Julio Voltio has been recognized by the producers of “Grand Theft Auto IV”, who have decided to include the singer´s hit single “Pónmela” on the soundtrack of this popular video game.
In its first week out on the market, the latest version of “Grand Theft Auto” has had unprecedented success, generating an impressive $400 million in sales; the greatest debut ever for an entertainment product.
To date, the previous version, “Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas”, has sold close to 21.5 million units, making it the most successful video game of all times.
Voltio was chosen together with a select group of other musical artists worldwide, whose talents have been pooled in order to bring the graphics presented in “Grand Theft Auto IV” to life.

According to 168Horas, his first wife, Gaby Bo, is coming clean about the supposed physical abuse she received from the hands of Cristian.
He apparently busted her mouth open and broke a couple of her fingers!
She talks about Cristian’s moods and strange behavior:
“At first he was charming, but then he changed. There was abuse, he would push and slap me. He would ask me what I had cooked, and if he didn’t like it he would leave and not come back until a week later.”
This is not going to help in his divorce case against Valeria Liberman!
A couple of skankies got into a physical fight at a Jenni Rivera concert which prompted a couple of men to throw punches and battle it out as well.
Jenni was watching all of this from the stage and said:
“They’re going to take you to jail, I know what I’m talking about.”
Of course, Jenni was talking about the incident that occurred a few weeks ago in which she busted some a concert goer’s head with a microphone, and was later arrested for it.
